Healthy FunOur Food Facts DisplayHere at the Ruth Lilly Health Education Center, we are constantly striving to use the latest technology to create enjoyable and engaging tools for teaching health education in our classrooms. Our Food Facts Display module is an online example of a simple interactive visual that clearly and immediately conveys important nutrition information concerning carbohydrate, protein and fat content for 50 diverse food items. BAM! - Body and Mind This unique online destination for kids 9 - 13 years old was created by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The site's mission is to provide children information they need to make healthy lifestyle choices. KidsHealth Produced by the Nemours Foundation and dedicated to improving the health and spirit of children, KidsHealth is for kids, teens and parents, providing valuable health education information. The Cool Spot Created for kids 11-13 years old by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), The Cool Spot gives teens a clearer picture about alcohol use among their peers and helps them learn skills to resist pressure to drink and to give them reasons not to drink. Brain Pop A critically acclaimed educational online resource for children grades K - 8 featuring hundreds of math, science, English and social studies movies. American Dental Association The ADA site has a section especially for kids featuring animations about good dental hygiene and a special animation to help prepare children for their first visit to the dentist. American Dental Hygienists' Association The national association for dental hygienists' website provides Common Questions (and expert answers), Tooth Facts for Kids and games, all tailored for children. PBS Kids Here you'll find games, stories, music and coloring along with all the beloved PBS Kids characters like Barney, Clifford, the Berenstain Bears and the Teletubbies, as well as the classic Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. Sesame Street This long-time television program friend of both children and parents makes for an agreeable online experience, too. Nickelodeon This is Nickelodeon's energetic website, where you'll find SpongeBob Squarepants, Jimmy Neutron, Zoey 101 and other kids' favorites. Discovery Kids is the companion website for the Discovery Channel's programming for children. And be sure to check out the yuckiest site on the Internet. National Geographic.com for Kids An offshoot of the National Geographic Society's magazine for children, this site offers news, pictures, games and more as it informs children about our world in a framework that's especially appealing to them.

Fast Food Nutrition Fact Explorer The Fast Food Nutrition Fact Explorer helps people make healthy food choices at fast food restaurants. It provides nutrition facts sorted by total calories, fat calories, percentage of calories from fat, cholesterol, sodium, carbohydrates and protein or fiber.
