Highway to Health

Juniors – Grades 4–6
90 Minutes

Course Description

This program satisfies the requirements of the Highway to Health badge (the completion of other activities may be required). Participants will "travel the highway to health" as they focus on healthy behavior choices and recognize the need to develop positive health habits. The "germ busters" portion of the program highlights the need for proper hand washing and good hygiene. The nutrition segment challenges girls to make wise food choices while avoiding added fat, sugar and salt. An interactive voting game is used to present key concepts such as the value of a good night's sleep and various techniques for managing and relieving stress. Participants earn "mileage" throughout the program in order to reinforce positive choices toward the ultimate destination of a healthy lifestyle.
