Brownies – Grades 1–3

Course Description

Brownies learn how to exercise and play safely. Balancing, stretching, hand–eye coordination, jumping and running are discussed and practiced.

Goal

Girl Scouts understand the role of bones and muscles and how they function within our bodies.

Learning Objectives

  • Discuss bones and muscles and how they give our bodies shape and support.
  • Review briefly how bones protect our bodies.
  • Discuss how the skull protects our brain and the rib cage protects our heart.
  • State that the function of muscles is to move our bodies.
  • Demonstrate how the heart muscle functions.
  • Practice stretching, balancing, hand-eye coordination, jumping and running.
