Course Description
This class concentrates on skills Scouts need to succeed: goal setting, focusing on positive role models, positive thinking and coping with peer pressure. Using group discussions, hands-on activities and role-playing, scouts learn the importance of a healthy self-image. This class satisfies six of the requirements for the “Being My Best” badge.
Goal
Scouts learn the importance of a positive self–opinion.
Learning Objectives
- Define self-esteem.
- Identify ways that self–esteem affects choices and relationships.
- Discuss measures to cope with peer pressure.
- Recognize ways to boost one's opinion of self and others.
- Practice and plan to achieve a goal.
