Being My Best

Juniors – Grades 4–6

Course Description

This class concentrates on skills Scouts need to succeed: goal setting, focusing on positive role models, positive thinking and coping with peer pressure. Using group discussions, hands-on activities and role-playing, scouts learn the importance of a healthy self-image. This class satisfies six of the requirements for the “Being My Best” badge.

Goal

Scouts learn the importance of a positive self–opinion.

Learning Objectives

  • Define self-esteem.
  • Identify ways that self–esteem affects choices and relationships.
  • Discuss measures to cope with peer pressure.
  • Recognize ways to boost one's opinion of self and others.
  • Practice and plan to achieve a goal.
