Course Description

This program incorporates factual information on alcohol and life choices. Students will recognize the harmful effects of alcohol on their health as well as how their choices affect their future. Technology, a myth/fact game, and critical thinking are used to reinforce the message.

Goal

Students will understand the dangers associated with alcohol use and the importance of making wise decisions now to ensure a healthier future.

Objectives:

  • Identify social and legal consequences of alcohol and other drugs.
  • Dispute common myths related to alcohol.
  • Define alcohol and related terms.
  • Recall strategies for healthy decision making for oneself and others.
  • Recognize how the choices one makes today can affect one’s future.
