Our Funding
Since the RLHEC's beginning, partnerships have been essential to our mission. Seventy percent of the Center's total revenue is derived through grants and donations. The remaining 30 percent is provided through admission fees. The Center is named to honor Ruth Lilly's generous gift to the building fund. There is no affiliation between the Center and the Lilly family, Lilly Endowment or Eli Lilly and Company.

Come Learn with Us!

Just one visit and you’ll agree: Every student in Indiana should have the opportunity to experience health education like this – the Ruth Lilly Health Education Center way.

The RLHEC, Indiana’s largest health education center, empowers students to make better, more informed decisions about their health and well-being. We provide useful information on general health, nutrition and fitness, human growth and development, drug education, mental health, violence prevention, and disease prevention and control. And we do it in an innovative, highly interactive manner in our state-of-the-art facility located north of downtown Indianapolis.

Inside our seven teaching theaters, we deliver 35 unique, age-appropriate health education programs. It’s a hands-on, high-tech, must-see learning experience like never before!

The Center's focus is to engage, delight and inspire every visitor. And Since 1989, we've done just that for nearly 1.5 million Indiana students. Center visitors age 3 to adult receive enthusiastic instruction from teachers expert in and passionate about health education. They know their stuff, they know their audiences, and they know the importance of health education in today’s society.

We’re the Ruth Lilly Health Education Center. We hear we’re pretty “cool.” And we hear it a lot. So plan a visit and come see what we mean!
